People, much like their gardens, are unique.

We cater for a wide range of clients, with extremely varied needs. Rest assured, any service provided to you, will be tailored to you specifically.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if any of the below resonates with you!

Consultation

Perhaps you’re at a stage where all you would like is a little professional advice? Either just to get you started, or maybe you have a specific area or problem you’d like some assistance with.

A one-to-one consultation in your garden will enable us to discuss the aspects you’re finding tricky, and me to offer advice and resolutions for them. This can be on a one-off basis, or repeated as and when it suits you.

Design and Build

We are being invited into your home to create something of beauty, unique to you and your household, which is also a substantial financial investment, and we take that responsibility very seriously. So, building the relationship between client, designer and landscaper is important, and one that we value.

  • Sarah meets with a prospective client to discuss the potential of the garden and what the client would like to achieve. From this, and at the client’s request, a detailed Brief is created together with information on payment schedules and terms and conditions. During this process, the client is also introduced to the landscaper, Alan Horley.

A draft design for the hard landscaping is created for discussion with the client; this is a hand-drawn design and includes structures, paths, surfaces, water features and designated areas of planting, but not the specific plants. This is to ensure the client likes the feel of the design and that it’s progressing in line with the Brief.

Once the hard landscape design has been approved and signed off, the designer and the landscaper each prepare costings for their side of the project. The landscaper’s costs include all labour, including assistance with the planting, and all construction materials. The Designer’s costs include all plants, planting and regular site visits during construction. Once the client has approved the total cost, potential start dates to build the garden are discussed.

  • Depending on the extent of the client’s plant knowledge and desire to be involved, there is much ‘plant talk’ to be had about the style of planting, the expertise and/or available gardening help, and the choosing and sourcing of plants which are appropriate for the soil and conditions of the site.

  • On day 1, the design is precisely marked out on the ground and any tweaks are implemented if required. There is always flexibility when creating a garden and if the client decides they would like something added to the design, we will always endeavour to accommodate it. Sarah is frequently on site and maintains close contact with the client throughout the building of the garden, which we want to be an enjoyable experience for them.

  • Upon satisfactory completion of the garden, Sarah provides a Handover document giving basic advice on how to look after it, together with a list of all the botanically named plants used in each border.
